Manhattan Beach Mask Ordinance

Earlier today John & Ken of KFI 640 AM Radio were filming a short video in a Manhattan Beach park when they were approached by a member of the MBPD for not wearing a face covering/mask. Currently the city-wide ordinance requires wearing a mask at all times while in public, with a $356 fine for a first offense and possible misdemeanor citation. The City Council is considering removing the misdemeanor provision, but the ordinance technically applies to all public outings, including the beaches and parks. I have observed MBPD enforcement officials on The Strand riding Segway-like vehicles enforcing the ordinance, but from what I have seen they have (thus far) been issuing reminders and warnings, not citations. However, there have been reports of people being cited for not wearing masks while on the beach/sand.
